Phish is an American rock band that formed in 1983 at the University of Vermont, and found fame throughout the 1990s with their improvisational, free-form sound that draws influence from a variety of genres including jazz, folk, country, bluegrass, and pop. The band's best-known line-up of "Trey, Page, Mike, and Fish" has performed together on-and-off for over thirty years and continues to sell out stadiums and amphitheatres year on year. Not only is the band known for its live performance, but Phish has released thirteen studio albums to date and has sold over eight million albums and DVDs in the United States to date.
