As their highly-anticipated new album “Butter Miracle, The Complete Sweets!” comes out this May, COUNTING CROWS is kicking off a huge tour across the nation this summer. With support from The Gaslight Anthem, they’ll be serving up a sweet night of rock-out hits & new music. Close to five years since they released a new record, they shared a taste of what to expect — through their latest single “Spaceman in Tulsa.”
The brand-new single is a heck of a sweet serving from the multi-platinum and Grammy-nominated rockers. Their signature storytelling abilities shine while introducing a new dynamic sound to their rocking instrumentation. Showcasing growth and maturity in their sound, the band stays true to their way of producing heartfelt lyrics and irresistible melodies that made strides in their career.
“'Spaceman In Tulsa' is about metamorphosis - the way music breaks down who we were and spins us into something new. It's about broken lives becoming something better,” Adam Duritz said about the track.
Back when Butter Miracle’s little brother, “Suite One” was released, the band’s frontman had a heartfelt conversation with Rolling Stone about life & making music. “I’ve been quite happy,” he said, sharing how he’s been in a four or five-year relationship already. “Most of my experiences in my life had been what it’s like to be alone and live alone,” saying how it’s no longer the case this time around. Years of no music out, the man shares that he’s realized that “maybe something’s more important than writing songs.”
Now, the band is back in the game, and they’ve got new stories to tell. Living life in its purest form, there’s no need to rush writing hard-hitting music. It’s time for The Complete Sweets!
Serving up a sweet show in Alpharetta, Counting Crows is set to transform a calm night into a high-energy rock outing.
