2024 Year in review! Ameris Bank Amphitheatre 2024 highlights!
The spring and summer season in Alpharetta, Georgia is warm and long! That means music fans had plenty of fantastic opportunities to bask in the outdoors! The year 2024 was truly and monumentally exciting and the concert season was absolutely packed with magnificent shows and festivals! Top rated artists, world class performers, groundbreaking orchestras, and tons more conquered Ameris Bank Amphitheatre and attendees had a blast! With its high end features like amphitheater, lawn space, VIP club, and vast parking lot, it’s definitely a remarkable leisure destination that’s an awesome space to let loose and unwind. So before hitting up the 2025 season, here’s a lookback on the most raging shows to ever hit Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in 2024!
APRIL
Springtime was sizzling! Yes, Ameris Bank Amphitheatre was definitely turning up the heat with their phenomenal line-up of spring spectacles. The venue opened with a staggering celebration for the Sessanta Tour – a triple threat festivity that featured all of rock icon Maynard James Kennan’s bands. The show featured Puscifer, Primus, and A Perfect Circle – all world renowned rock powerhouses in their own right. Several days later, the amphitheater paved way for a country showdown featuring Riley Green who was in town for Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour.
2000s rock fans definitely had a smashing hit storm when pop rock groups The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie joined forces for a massive co-headlining rager at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre. It was a great opening to the venue’s concert season and belted out a plethora of brilliant hits from the bands’ plentiful catalog.
MAY
If you thought April was awesome, wait til you find out that May was a grand spankin terrific! For starters, Ameris Bank Ampitheatre is home to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. The grand ensemble hit the big stage in May and delivered a plethora of pleasing compositions, including award-winning scores from Star Wars and tons more. It’s a mighty packed cultural and musical spectacle that brought out all the classical music lovers, movie fans, and the families looking to have an incredible moment.
Lastly, May went out with a phenomenal rager as country music star Parker McCollum came in to deliver the Burn It Down Tour. The show featured guest performances Corey Kent, and George Birge – all of which are phenomenal stars making waves on the charts.
JUNE
The start of summer was utterly terrific as June was packed with magnificent spectacles catering to every music taste. O.G. 2000s boyband-er Nial Horan, formerly from One Direction, is serving his The Show Live on Tour. Horran proved that night that his popularity is not all hype as the all-around performer showcased immense talent as he busted out hits like “Slow Hands,” “Nice to Meet Ya,” “Small Talk,” and “Edge of Seventeen.” One Direction fans also got a treat as Horran sang a 1D song, “Night Changes.” For a young performer, belting out over 20 songs was impressive. Nial Horran definitely did all that and more.
From pop sensations to country superstars, Ameris Bank Amphtiheatre had it all. Tyler Childers who recently pulled off the sold out Mule Pule Tour delivered a brilliant two night extravaganza. The Grammy nominated country singer was in town to promote his latest album, Rustin’ in the Rain and his setlist was reported to be mighty packed – delivering over 20 songs including smashers like “Heart You’ve Been Trending,” “Whitehouse Road,” “Shake the Frost,” and “Rustin’ in the Rain.”
You can’t have a best of list without putting down outlaw king Willie Nelson in the list. In this case, the legendary country and blues rocker brought his highly awaited Outlaw Music Festival which happened to be headlined by fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Bob Dylan and Robert Plant. Sensational bluegrass singer Allison Kraus also joined this grand line-up and together they served one of the biggest nights at the venue.
The month of June also saw the arrivals of Maggie Rogers, Dave Matthews Band, Alanis Morisette, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Morgan Wade, Cole Swindell, Dylan Scott, and Lily Rose. We weren’t kidding when we say that this month was packed!
JULY
The month of July was hella interesting especially with the momentous arrival of headbangers like Lamb of God, Mastodon, Halestorm and I Prevail. These shows brought in all the prolific debauchery loving fans and that means Ameris Bank Amphitheatre hosted some adrenaline pumping circle pits. You can’t help but rage out on this one as the bands deliver angst driven titles for the Lamb of God and Mastodon’s Ashes of Leviathan Tour and Halestorm and I Prevail’s co-headlining trek featuring Hollywood Undead and Fit for a King.
None head bangers also had a feast for the eyes and ears as the popular Barbie The Movie in Concert arrived to give a fantastic music and movie experience. A top notch orchestra and band gave this screening a live experience – it’s not just a movie anymore, but a thrilling symphonic extravaganza.
Old school rockers also had their moments as the legendary Sammy Hagar, Styx, Foreigner, The Doobie Brothers, and Robert Cray Band. Dads definitely had a great time but also their families as these O.G. rockers show that old school rock hits can still definitely stir a crowd.
AUGUST
The venue continued to heat up with fire performances and August was no exception. For instance, the arrival of the highly awaited indie rock powerhouse Glass Animals along with special guest Eyedress definitely made the season banging. The Tour of Earth was a highly limited run and lucky fans in Georgia got to witness an immense spectacle like no other. Speaking on indie bands, Cage the Elephant and Bakar also served piping hot performances. These two bands were in town to deliver the Neon Pill Tour which promoted Cage the Elephant’s brand new album.
The month also saw some world renowned rockers, country stars, and more. Brett Michaels, singer-songwriter of Poison, showed everyone that he’s still at the top of the glam and hard rock food chain. That night he busted out classics like “Every Rose Has its Thorn,” “Talk Dirty To Me,” “Nothing But A Good Time,” and “Ride the Wind.”
The lineup for August was massive and there were just too many awesome shows that it’s definitely hard to cherry pick the best. But definitely, some standout gigs include those performed by county duo Dan + Shay, Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire record breaking Heart and Soul Tour, Stone Temple Pilots and Live’s The Jubilee Tour, and Limp Bizkit’s Loserville Tour.
SEPTEMBER
September’s list is amazingly packed with tons of minblowing performances. The month’s stand out moments included those from Avril Lavigne, Dierks Bentley, John Legend, Meghan Trainor, and Hootie and the Blowfish. Headbangers also rejoiced that month as some gargantuan names in rock and metal were in town to deliver epic debaucheries. We’re talking out Falling in Reverse’s Popular Monstour II, Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper’s Freaks on Parade, Korn’s headlining trek featuring Gojira and Spiritbox, and Creed’s Summer of 99 Tour featuring 3 Doors Down and Finger Eleven. Breaking Bejamin and Staind also came in to serve a brilliant co-headining showdown featuring classics plus brand new music. The gig also brought in special guest Daughtry.
OCTOBER
Country stars took over the end of the concert season and it was definitely a brilliant string of spectacles. Firstly, Pardi people came in to celebrate the amazing catalog of Jon Pardi. The country star was in town to deliver Mr. Saturday Night Tour, which featured special guests Priscilla Block and Larry Fleet. Meanwhile, outlaw phenom Cody Jinks arrived for the Change the Game Tour which served over 20 songs, including the grand hit, “Loud and Heavy.”
Another country sensation Whiskey Myers was also in the house – this time, it’s country rock taking precedence and turning up the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre. The band was promoting their latest effort Tonillo, but also busted out older and beloved classics from their earlier releases.
Lastly, the biggest country showdown of them all – Lainey Wilson’s Country’s Cool Again Tour. This new generation of cowboy hat wearing and guitar slinging artists delivered titles like “Heart Like a Truck,” “Watermelon Moonshine,” “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” and a heck ton more. The show also brought Ian Munsick and Zach Top as special guests.
