John Legend smashed into the music scene with his soulful, honest, and inspiring debut album, "Get Lifted." He shot right to the top of the Billboard 200, receiving double platinum certification, and saw the massive success of his first hit single, "Ordinary People." With heart and passion at the core, further albums and hits such as "So High," "Save Room," and "Green Light" were gobbled up by a world starving for sincere music. The heartfelt single "All of Me" spent 23 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10, achieving diamond certification.
John Legend also made his mark on Broadway with a Tony Award for co-producing the stage play, "Jitney" and played the title role of NBC's adaption of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar," for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination, and won an award as producer.
If excellence can be measured in accolades, John Legend is at his absolute best: he racked up no less than 12 Grammy Awards, is the recipient of the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame, won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and Golden Globe Award for his single, "Glory"; and also received the NAACP's President's Award. John Legend is also the first black male and second youngest recipient of all four major American entertainment awards – one of only 19 who achieved this globally.
With this in mind, nothing can prepare you for the emotional rollercoaster you’re about to get on with John Legend and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra under the baton of maestro Anthony Parnther.
It's nothing but sophistication, pristine vocals, and musical prowess on display, with a heartfelt performance, like only John Legend can, sealing the deal. Add some wistful storytelling, top-notch skills, and the superb Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to the mix, and a mesmerizing night like no other is on the cards!
